Who Are We
BOLI is an up-and-coming Punjabi media outlet dedicated to breaking down Punjabi music and culture. We are proud to see the Punjabi music industry grow across the world and currently, our platform is focused around translating and contextualizing lyrics in Punjabi songs. With a heavy emphasis on drums and melodies, it is easy for anyone to fall in love with these songs regardless of whether they’re a classic track or right off the newest EP. However, the lyrics, when translated, add a significant amount of weight as they usually speak upon the rich history of Punjab or reference other impactful stories within the Punjabi Diaspora.

Role
We’re looking for Video Editors proficient in Adobe Premiere who can meet quick turnaround times without sacrificing quality. Our ideal candidates are excited about working in a collaborative environment in order to meaningfully relay these dynamic stories across all mediums.
*NOTE: This is currently an unpaid position with a one month contractual trial period.

Pay
‍Currently, this is unpaid.

Responsibilities Include:
    - Edit short-form lyrical translation videos with quick turnaround times
    - Working with copywriters and voice actors to create minute-long social media content
    - Stay on top of new social media trends and implement new content ideas where applicable
    - Introducing new and unique editing techniques to implement within our storytelling

Qualifications:
    - Prompt and reliable communication
    - Ability to meet virtually once a week
    - Intermediate-to-Advanced level of knowledge of Adobe Premiere
       - *or knowledge of another video editing software and a willingness to transition towards Adobe Premiere
    - Basic understanding of visual effects, motion graphics, and color correction
    - Knowledge of After Effects, Figma, and any digital audio workstation (DAW) is a plus!

Translator

Role
We’re looking for translators proficient in both Punjabi and English who can meet quick turnaround times without sacrificing quality. Our ideal candidates are excited about working in a collaborative environment in order to deliver the essence of Punjabi lyrics and not translating word-for-word.

Pay
Currently, this is unpaid.

Responsibilities Include:
    - Translating Punjabi lyrics in the song, artist, and cultural context
    - Educating team members on the nuances of Punjabi language and how it can be best translated to English
    - Stay on top of new song releases

Qualifications:
    - Prompt and reliable communication
    - Advanced knowledge of Punjabi and English
